A day trip to Tsavo East National Park from Mombasa offers an unparalleled adventure into one of Africa’s largest and oldest wildlife reserves. Early Morning around 5:30 am, our driver will pick you from your hotel or residence in Mombasa to optimize your time in the park and take advantage of the cooler morning hours when wildlife is most active. Arrive at the Bachuma Gate, the primary entrance to Tsavo East from Mombasa.
Embark on a morning game drive to explore Tsavo East’s vast open landscapes and seek out its famous red elephants. Look out for a variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and numerous bird species and spectacular landscapes; Aruba Dam, a bustling watering hole attracting a diverse range of animals, Lugard Falls, Galana River, Mudanda Rock and other wildlife.
Midday Break, take a short break and enjoy a packed breakfast or snacks while stretching your legs. Continue your game drive, exploring different areas of the park. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife that you may have missed earlier in the morning.
Take a break and have lunch at Voi Wildlife Lodge to recharge before continuing with your game drive.
In the afternoon, set out for your final game drive of the day. We will focus on water sources and watering holes, where animals often gather.
